Attack on America : shaken but not stirred

Tuesday morning 8:48 am ET September 11th 2001, a hijacked commercial plane crashes into the World Trade Center in Manhattan, New York. From then on, the no one could immagine the terror and horrific scenarios that would take place next that would forever change the lives and spirits of the American people. In deed, if you would have told anyone that on Sept 11th the Twin Towers would crumble to the ground and the Penatgon would be hit, probably no one would have believed you. However, now in these places, only scraps of metal and debris bare witness to what once lied there, the greatest symbols of American economic power. Now in these cites, hundreds of dedicated men and women, construction workers, police, medical personnel, firefighters, volunteers, family members, and friends continuously search and pour out their heart and soul in hopes of witnessing a sign of life amist the collosal masses of rubble.

The United States has been mourning since this day. Many looking for lovedones, hoping for answers. Others are deeply emotionally scarred, while many are working towards anger and revenge. Through the past few days, many, including mysel,f are still in disbelief and in complete sorrow. Indeed, the country is in mourning and an eerie silence and saddness covers the land. Everywhere you turn, there are some signs of patriotism and respect. Flowers, vigils, candles, yellow ribbons, and mostly, American flags at half staff.

Through all the difficult and unbearable pain the country has experienced, along with the American government, the president, and the various corageous men and women, the tragedy has also brought the American people together. It is only here you will see, enemies hand in hand, tough strong men brought to tears, strangers hugging each other, saying hello to one another crying for one another, and praying for each other.

It is in this light that touches my heart to realize that in this cold cruel isolated world, there are still many compassionate and loving ndividuals, it just takes a common ground to bring everyone together. Most of all, it is at times like these that make me very proud to be an American.

From all of us at f@ux. & laby, our prayers and sympathy for the victims and victims' families & for all who have put thier life, heart, and soul to help bring justice and answers to the American people.
